What to see in Yantarny?
Yantarny — a town where the land shines. A place with character.
Here, up to 90% of the world’s amber is mined. A stone millions of years old still washes up on the beach after storms.
Hop on a bike and let’s go — explore a town that preserves the past and inspires the present:
— Start with the promenade — the cleanest waterfront in Russia, yes, with the “Blue Flag” — an international eco-award. The sea on your right, pines on your left, fresh air fills your lungs.
— Along the way — the Blue Dunes, a protected area with sandy hills and a wooden trail among rare plants.
— Visit Becker Park, established in the early 20th century. Maples, oaks, and spruces grow here, many older than the town itself.
— Next — the Church of St. Bruno, built in 1904. Today, it’s a cultural center with a museum and concerts.
— Nearby — the Craftsmen’s Town, where amber is hand-processed just like a hundred years ago. You can not only watch but try it yourself.
— On Hauptstraße (now Sovetskaya Street) — old houses with carved shutters, tiled roofs, and cozy cafes in East Prussian style.
— Finish the route at the quarry lookout. From here, you can see how amber is still mined from the bottom of an artificial lake. The depth is more than 50 meters, and the amber seam goes straight down into the earth.
This is not just a bike ride. It’s a day full of discoveries.
And at Kosse Club — there are bikes.
